When preparing for my Idaho archery elk hunt this fall, I wanted the protection of a firearm while in grizzly country, but didn't want to sacrifice comfortability of my pack's hip belt or the accessibility and functionality of my bino/rangefinder chest harness. All of this led me to Deadfall Designs and the Guardian Chest Plate which addressed all of my concerns in one simple solution! Not only that, the customer service is top notch! My bino harness was the Vortex Glasspak Pro which didn't quite fit standard measurements for the Guardian, so Dioni personally sent me longer straps to try out with my harness and they worked great! This is an innovative piece of kit. There are so many gear mounting option it’s crazy. The system is significantly more comfortable than one may perceive being plastic and within 30 min of use I didn’t notice it for the rest of this past season. Easy to mount holsters, mags, lights, knives and whatever else you can dream up. It’s a no brainer!

I’ve used the guardian chest plate now on several scouting trips and it’s solved the issues with other bino pack holsters on the market. The adjustability allows to position the holster exactly how you want and make micro adjustments if needed to clear rangefinder pouch or to clear shoulder straps on your pack. It’s very comfortable and doesn’t hang below the Bino Harness making it very hard to ride a quad or horse. I also like that you can use the holster of your choice from a brand you trust and like. I definitely recommend this product!

The Guardian is by far my favorite bino harness accessory. I have tried a number of different ways of carrying a sidearm while hunting but the Guardian provides the best solution. Easily accessible, out of the way, and all for very little weight.

The versatility it offers for adding a knife or magazine holder is also beneficial.

I even leave it on when I am not carrying a pistol as the space and airflow it creates behind a bino harness makes it much less sweaty and more comfortable.

I received my chest plate yesterday and really enjoy it. It was easy to mount and fit my knife perfectly. I will be ordering a compatible holster and plan to use this on my binocular harness and fishing pack. Overall, I am very satisfied and seems like a sturdy well-built design. This product is also very lightweight which is necessary for hunting the Idaho backcountry!
